Data collection follows a common set of inputs - fuel and grid electricity use, a utility map (for vertical facilities), and a production map (products, processes, and typical volumes) - with various pathways to accommodate different users and systems.

During the pilot phase, data will be gathered by Made2Flow, a Germany-based data company specializing in data collection across fashion supply chains. Facilities participating in the pilot will be asked to submit data on their energy use, fuel mix, and production volumes directly through the platform.

All data collected will be reviewed and validated to ensure accuracy and comparability. The results will then be used to refine the benchmark database and methodology ahead of the publication of the benchmark in January 2026. Updates approved by the Technical Review Committee will occur on a six-month cadence.
