Aii funded this project to reduce emissions from sludge treatment processes, which are energy-intensive yet often overlooked. The project addresses inefficiencies in conventional steam-based drying and demonstrates a lower-carbon alternative using waste heat and solar energy. It also helps overcome financial barriers to adopting integrated waste management solutions.
This project focuses on improving sludge management and energy efficiency in textile processing by installing a sludge dewatering and drying system combined with waste heat recovery. The system reduces reliance on steam-based drying and enables more efficient handling of sludge generated during wastewater treatment, thereby lowering both energy use and emissions.

LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR MATURITY LEVELSThe solution has good scalability potential, especially in regions with high solar irradiation. However, performance variability due to weather and site-specific conditions may affect replication. The integration of multiple systems requires upfront investment and technical coordination.
