Today, we’re pleased to announce the latest Climate Solutions Portfolio (CSP) Grantees and newest additions to the CSP Registry: Arvind, Artistic Milliners, and NylaNova.
Arvind Limited is installing the first cotton stalk-based biomass torrefaction plant, allowing biomass to be used as a transition fuel without boiler replacement. With an estimated 55,106 tCO₂e reduction annually; wide applicability for most wet processing; and high viability in India, China, and other countries with large quantities of agricultural waste, this interim solution demonstrates responsible use of biomass as a transitional fuel source.
Artistic Milliners and WWF Pakistan are leading one of Pakistan’s first feasibility studies on heat pump adoption for textile manufacturing. This pilot project - which will also include vendor selection, implementation support, and a case study - aims to replace fossil fuel-dependent thermal systems, reducing steam needs and fuel consumption. While impact data will be confirmed following the study, Artistic Milliners is targeting a system that will save at least 40% of its unit’s emissions annually.
NylaNova is advancing a breakthrough recycling technology from lab-scale to a 10kg/day pilot to dramatically reduce the carbon footprint of Nylon-6 production, which traditionally emits over ten times more carbon than recycled alternatives. This solvent-free, chemically recycled process has the potential to deliver 75% emissions savings compared to virgin production.
Climate Solution Portfolio grants provide essential funding for solutions that often struggle to gain support from brands, facilities, and other sources. Beyond financial support, selected grantees receive independent validation and connections to brands, facilities, and investors within Aii’s network.
In Fall 2025, Aii will open its targeted grant application window, focused on supporting capex for electrification and electrification-supporting projects. (Read more)
