Fashion For Good (FGG) and Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) co-authored “Unlocking The Trillion-Dollar Fashion Decarbonisation Opportunity,” Report, which for the first time, charts a trajectory for the fashion industry to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 by mapping the solutions and breaking down the financing and funders needed to drive this ambition. The report will be released during the Textile Exchange 2021 Textile Sustainability Conference and can be accessed here.

Apparel manufacturing’s role in Vietnam’s ambitious net-zero pledge
At the COP26 conference in November 2021, Vietnam’s Prime Minister boldly committed his country to “capitalize on its advantage in renewable energy and take stronger measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions…to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050”.1 Vietnam’s commercial and industrial sector (C&I) is key to achieving the Prime Minister’s ambitious pledge, as it consumes approximately 60% of all of Vietnam’s electricity generation.2 Thus, for the country to meet its 2050 pledge, its C&I energy users must accelerate progress in their transitions away from fossil fuel-based energy sources.

WRI Roadmap To Net Zero Report 2020

The World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) introduce “Roadmap to Net Zero,” a report and guide calling for the system-wide collaboration needed to reduce GHG emissions of the apparel and footwear industry by 45% at minimum by 2030 and to zero by 2050.
Planet Tracker EASY (UN) PICKINGS Report

This new report by Planet Tracker uses data collected by the Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) to show that energy efficiency investments in wet processing facilities yield financial returns that cover the cost of the investment required in less than two years on average, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by more than 10%. However, facilities often struggle to secure financing for these investments so there is a need for new forms of capital to enter the space and close the financing gap.
