FIBRE52™
Wax-On, Bleach & Dye Technology

FIBRE52™ reduces process demand for energy through a patented wax-on, low temperature bleach and dye system that replaces outdated preparation methods for cotton and other cellulosics. The unique drop-in solution works with existing machinery, using bio-friendly products instead of harsh chemicals, such as caustic soda. Mills can immediately reduce Scope 1 emissions, and use less temperature and water to achieve superior end fabrics of all shades with increased strength and natural softness.

Financial breakdown

There is a one-time bulk chemistry cost for providing FIBRE52™ technology at a mill. Following that, chemistry is ordered for use during the production process. Costs vary by region, but FIBRE52™ aims to have a cost neutral solution when factoring in chemistry, water and energy reductions.

The Challenge

BluWin conducted a study at a leading mill in India, comparing the FIBRE52™ process with the mill's existing pretreatment and soap wash-off process for cotton fabric. BluWin reported the FIBRE52™ system led to 31% steam consumption reduction, 19% less power used, 11% water reduction, and 28% less CO2 emissions compared to the mill's conventional process.
