Bangjie Knitting (Vietnam) Co., Ltd.
Steam Generating Heat Pump

By implementing a steam generating heat pump, Bangjie will eliminate GHG emissions from heat generation. This will be the first installation of a steam generating heat pump to provide the full heat demand for a facility in Vietnam. Bangjie will generate electricity from onsite solar pv and enter a Direct Power Purchase Agreement to power the heat pump. The installation will be a model example for the entire sector in Vietnam, as well as for other countries, demonstrating one of the first global examples of electrifying the dyeing process.

Funding contributions

The majority of the Aii funding (96%) will be used for the up front Capital Expenditure of the heat pump. The remaining funding will support the project management and monitoring and reporting of the installation. Bangjie has also received a loan from H&M to fund the remainder of the CAPEX.
