Solar photovoltaics are a renewable and clean energy source that can significantly reduce the carbon footprint of textile and apparel manufacturing operations. On-site diesel generation or other forms of fossil fuel-based energy can be reduced or eliminated through the use of solar PV (with and without storage).

What are the different saving types?

Implementation Plan

GIZ will establish a stakeholder (brands, factories, associations) engagement plan. Once facilities are selected, on-site assessments of each factory will analyze current and future energy requirements and costs. GIZ will then prepare a project that includes a technical layout and a business case to support the investment decision. Finally, GIZ will provide match-making support with solution providers and support in the project installation and monitoring.
