Financial breakdown

There are no additional costs for standard equipped dyeing or finishing mills. Only the chemicals and dyes are replaced. Chemicals to be used may increase recipe cost. However, it will be compensated by savings associated to water and energy consumption reduction. Costs may vary based on factors such as country of production, color depth, and fabric composition.

Implementation Plan

PIGMENTURA by CHT is a pigment dyeing system for continuous dyeing. It consists of various auxiliaries and color pigments. CHT can provide customers with color adjustment and technical advice. On-site support for initial trials by service technicians is also available.

The system is first described in detail. Preliminary tests are then carried out on the customer's fabrics in the customer's or CHT laboratories. The recipes are adapted to the existing machinery. The best process parameters are developed on site in collaboration with the customer.

The Challenge

A Spanish textile company partnered with CHT to evaluate the sustainability of CHT's pigment-based continuous dyeing process (Pigmentura) compared to the standard method. The study assessed water and energy consumption, CO2 emissions and production efficiency across four trials involving 100% cotton and 50% cotton/ 50% polyester blends. The analysis of Pigmentura indicates significant reductions in all evaluated variables to the standard approach. We have extrapolated the batch testing to a monthly production figure to demonstrate the scale of impact.
