Pramit Chanda is an experienced sustainability professional with a successful track record in overseeing investments & grants and program delivery focussed on system change. He has over 30 years of experience with delivery and sales.
Pramit is currently the Global Director for IDH Textiles & Manufacturing Business Unit and a part of the Global Management Team at IDH.
Until December 2021, he was the Country Director for IDH India where he was responsible for the work on the responsible sourcing agenda and for sustainability programs on Tea, Fruits & Vegetables, Palm Oil, Apparel Worker Safety and Spices. He was also the Global Program Director for the Cotton & Apparel verticals. He represents IDH on the Farmfit Fund Investment Committee and has taken similar roles with the Better Cotton Fast Track IC and the Growth and Innovation Fund IC.
Over the past 15 years, he has worked with retailer brands, textile supply chains, and civil society in key markets to mainstream the adoption of sustainable raw materials. Prior to IDH, he worked at IKEA for 5+ years, responsible for IKEA’s global sustainable cotton agenda to secure that IKEA met the goal of 100% Sustainable Cotton by 2015.
He has had stints as a Business Development Manager at IKEA sourcing, as a solution architect for IBM, Vice President for Rams Rewards division, Director Sales & Operations at Avon (India) and GM Operations at Dorling Kindersley (India).
