Artisic Milliners & WWF Pakistan
Denim Mill Heat Pump Feasibility Study

The project aims to integrate heat pumps into the dyeing department of Artistic Milliners' denim unit to fulfill hot water requirements for production processes and provide cooling for office spaces. This solution will replace fossil-fuel-dependent thermal systems, thereby reducing steam needs and fuel consumption. The implementation involves retrofitting existing systems with heat pumps and optimizing their operation to meet specific temperature needs. It represents the first textile sector pilot of heat pumps in Pakistan. The first grant, for a feasibility study, will help to better understand the current potential for heat pumps at Artistic Milliners, as well as the technology landscape in Pakistan.

Implementation Plan

This project will investigate and support the installation of heat pumps in the dyeing department of Artistic Milliners Pvt. Ltd.’ denim unit. The project aims to integrate heat pumps into the dyeing department of Artistic Milliners Pvt. Ltd.' denim unit to fullfil hot water requirements for production processes and provide cooling for office spaces. The first grant, for a feasibility study, will help to better understand the current potential for heat pumps at Artistic Milliners Pvt. Ltd., as well as the technology landscape in Pakistan. If the feasibility study shows a strong business case, Artistic Milliners Pvt. Ltd. will then apply for a second grant to support investment, making the project financially viable for implementation.
