How to make clothes that are a better fit for the planet - by Ian Robertson, Innovators Magazine
The fashion industry has a shocking record when it comes to exploiting workers and damaging the environment.Responsible for up to 10% of global emissions, it is a major polluter in need of an urgent makeover. And while this won’t happen overnight, there are some really positive signs – from all across the supply chain – that real change is underway.
The best examples of this transformation can be found in the many innovations reshaping the industry, some of which are recognised at the annual Global Change Award. Launched by the non-profit H&M Foundation in 2015, the Global Change Award celebrates innovators that are moving the industry towards a net-zero future.
